In selecting music, we will always strive to represent the music of the culture within which we are shooting.
In the case of 'Broken Kingdom', Colombia obviously has a wealth of tradition and music to explore.

Naturally, we are both aware of the manipulative power of music and because of that neither Geoff nor I wish to bludgeon our audience with sentimentality or coerce them to a feeling. We would be as careful in crafting the sound-scape as we would be with the image.

We love the elegance of silence and recognize its power in film.
